1. Aim

We value children’s moral development and activate their intelligence in different aspects. We design diversified activities according to children’s abilities. We aim to promote their creative thinking and investigating ability. Children are willing to learn different knowledge and techniques actively, with the six learning goals, Self and Society, Languages, Physical Fitness and Health, Science and Technology, Arts, and Early Mathematics.  Children learn through play and develop experiences through practicing. Children can learn from having a range of real-life activities, such as excursions, role play, English weeks, Putonghua weeks, and other special activity weeks, etc. Our curriculum also focuses on languages. We strengthen children’s Chinese and English language abilities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We foster children’s interest by providing them a language-rich learning environment. This environment makes their learning fun and sound. We also employ multi-media to encourage children to learn from different sources and strategies.

2. Learning Mode

Children have the right to learn through play and to experience through practice. We tailor our activities according to children’s developmental needs. Activities such as role-play, creative play, excursions, parent-child activities, and project approach, etc. Children can apply their knowledge while observing, practicing, classifying, comparing, peer teaching, talking, discussing, interviewing, and recording at these activities. They become active learners, that they seek knowledge and technique actively, their confidence would be enhanced, and to develop group studying skills.

3. Assessments

With regards to the six learning objectives, we assess children's development and learning progress regularly. Children Progress Reports are distributed to parents every time after finishing a unit. We also integrate children's whole year learning performance with their development. The learning report will be given to parents twice a year. In addition, there is a Learning Portfolio for every child to record children’s learning progress, description of events, and children’s artworks, etc. It is also a systemic record of children’s growth and development, which is prepared by teachers, parents, and children.
